Microsoft forced me to upgrade my old computer from Windows 7 to Windows 10 a month ago. As usual, I added a password to the computer to prevent illegal access. This morning, I tried to login the password as the one I thought it was right but the computer keeps saying "the password is wrong". What is to do to reset the forgotten password?
p.s i am not that a tech guy. simple method is preferred. thanks
No it isn't the only one, there's a hidden admin account.
Start in Safe Mode* When asked for the user account name/password, use the arrow keys to highlight/select Administrator (not your account) and leave the password blank☺
Or see if this works on the Guest account (might, might not?)...
Click the Start button and type...
in the Search field on the Start menu.
Right click the command prompt icon at the top of the Start menu and click Run as administrator.
Net user administrator /active:yes
Close and restart.
*On start up (before Windows loads) keep tapping either F5 or F8 (be aware that some manufacturers use F8 for system recovery!) then use arrow keys to highlight 'Safe Mode' and hit Enter/Return.
Try this method to reset forgotten Windows 10 password
. Hope it works.
